Tobin Booth, PE

CEO/Founder

Mr. Booth founded Blue Oak Energy because he recognized a critical need for intelligent project design and construction planning in the photovoltaic industry. With more than a decade of experience in renewable energy, he is a national leader in the field of solar electric design. His focus on reducing PV system costs and increasing reliability is widely acknowledged. Mr. Booth holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University and is a licensed engineer in more than 15 states.

Danny Lee, PhD

VP of Sales and Marketing

Dr. Lee oversees Blue Oak’s sales and marketing teams. His engineering expertise spans across several industries and brings a diverse range of engineering and business development skills. Dr. Lee has multiple degrees from UC Davis, UC Berkeley and Portland State.

Ryan Zahner, PE

VP of Operations

Mr. Zahner joined Blue Oak Energy in April of 2008 with almost 20 years of experience in alternative energy, engineering, and leadership. During his time at Blue Oak, Ryan has managed teams delivering multiple mega-watt designs for utility and commercial projects. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University where he also founded a successful solar car racing program.

Cherie Garrett, CPA

VP of Finance

Ms. Garrett plans, directs, monitors and administers all functional activities and policies related to treasury and finance, accounting, budgeting, financial analysis and fiscal reporting. With over 19 years of experience in financial analysis, business planning, tax, consulting and asset management, she brings the essential finance functions and oversight to the company. Ms. Garrett received her BS in accounting from Upper Iowa University and is also a certified public accountant.

Amy Hoagberg, MS

Director of Project Management

Ms. Hoagberg is Blue Oak’s seasoned engineering manager for utility projects. She has over a decade of experience in the solar electric industry, having worked at a utility-owned solar electric test facility and for a photovoltaic module manufacturer. Ms. Hoagberg holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, and Arizona State University, respectively.
