Sony Picture Studios in Burbank, California decided to offset its high energy consumption for lighting movie studio sets. Their general contractor hired Blue Oak Energy as the complete design and engineering team for the photovoltaic project on the historic Jimmy Stuart building. The solar electric system is a rooftop array anchored by a high strength, low weight aluminum mounting system. The inverter is roof mounted to minimize impact to the building floor area.
