Jayme Garcia, PE
Senior Engineering Project Manager
Jayme joined the company in 2005. He is our foremost authority on PV design, code compliance, and utility interconnection. Jayme is a licensed electrical engineer in twenty-five states and has more than a decade of experience in the PV industry. Jayme graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Mechanical Engineering degree from California State Polytechnic University.

Danny Lee, PhD
Senior Vice President
Danny has been with us since 2006 when he started as a Project Engineer. Since then, he has worn a myriad of hats, ranging from Engineering Manager to VP of Sales Development. In his current role, he directs the multidiscipline engineering team for Blue Oak Energy. Danny earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.

Jeremy Kostiew
Designer
Jeremy began working with us in 2007 as general back-office support. Within a year, Jeremy picked up AutoCAD and has continued to build his skills a designer on our projects. He also a talent for graphic design and 3-D modeling using a variety of tools. Finally, Jeremy has taken on responsibilities in IT supporting our team with hardware and software questions.

Amy Hoagberg, MS
Performance Engineer,Manager
Amy began working with us in 2007 after having worked at a major module manufacturer and an outdoor solar test center; and has more than 23 years of experience in the solar industry, dating back to her solar car racing days. She manages all project management resources for Blue Oak Energy design-build and EPC projects. Amy, who holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University

Matt Stornetta
Project Engineer
Matt started with us in 2008 as a CAD Designer. Over the years Matt built upon his understanding of PV, the National Electrical Code, and other design tools such as AmpCalc and ETAP; as a result, he was promoted to Project Engineer in 2011. Matt holds a B.S. in Agricultural Management and Rangeland Resources - Sustainable Systems from UC Davis and Certificate - Engineering Design Technology from Sacramento City College.

Ryan Zahner, PE
Vice President
Ryan started with us in 2008 as a Project Engineer. Since then, he progressed from Director of Engineering to his current position. With more than 20 years of engineering, design, testing and management in alternative energy companies, Ryan is a key component to our success. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University and is a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Jon Klapp
Project Engineer
Jon joined BOE in 2010 as one of our first experienced CAD designers. Before long he picked up PV and electrical design to support our projects. Jon has also been one of our most innovative engineers, developing custom tools in RHINO and other parametric software. Jon holds an A.S. in Civil Technology with a minor in Earth Sciences from Santa Rosa Junior College.

Cathy Klapp
CAD Design Manager
Cathy has been with BOE since 2010. Aside from managing her team of designers, Cathy is responsible for managing CAD standards, continual process improvements, as well as software and hardware upgrades. At the same time, Cathy is more than a manager; she is player-coach that still works on many of our most complex, time sensitive projects. Cathy received her CAD training at the Heald Institute of Technology and American River College.

Lynda Le
Licensing and Permitting Specialist
Lynda joined BOE in 2011 as operational support before taking on project permitting and licensing coordination. In 2018, she became our Licensing and Permitting Specialist, adding bill analysis, interconnection applications, and PV Syst energy modeling to her list of skills. Lynda holds a BA in Sociology-Social Services from UC Davis.

Cindy Mello
AP, AR, and Payroll Manager
Cindy has been with BOE since 2011 and supports all things accounting and payroll. She has the tough job of reminding everyone to submit their timesheets on Monday, submitting their invoicing at the end of the month, and all the little things in between that keeps our company rolling.

Gabriel Molina, PE
Director of Engineering
Gabriel started as a project engineer in 2013, then held roles as developer and engineering project manager. Now, as Director of Engineering, Gabe is responsible for managing and mentoring our team of engineers and designers. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Davis and previously worked at the UC Davis California Lighting Technology Center.

Jenny Tudevdorj
Designer
Jenny joined us in 2013 as a CAD Designer. She has done all forms of design for PV projects but soon gravitated towards heavy civil projects. Working closely with BOE's civil engineering team, Jenny honed her skills in Civil 3D and creating the "C" sheets typically need for our plans. Jenny holds an A.A.in Architectural Drafting from Cosumnes River Community College.

Miranda Smith
Project Designer
Miranda has been with BOE since 2014. She has worked on some of our most complex projects demonstrating her versatility in both rooftop and groundmount designs. Miranda has developed her skills in Civil 3D, Revit, and other CAD tools. She holds an Engineering Design Technology Certificate of Achievement from Sacramento City College and completing coursework on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Certificate at American River College.

Ralph Damerow
Project Manager
Ralph joined BOE in 2014 as a Project Manager. He worked on many of BOE's most high profile EPC projects. Ralph's patience and prior experience in product development has helped him navigate projects for equipment manufacturers as well as PV implemented with new construction. Now Ralph is transferring his EPC project management experience to BOE's Owner's Engineering unit.

Kyle Brocker
Estimator-Manager
Kyle has been with BOE since 2015 and brings over 30 years of electrical construction experience. Kyle is responsible for project development, cost estimating, procurement and solving the tough problems that arise in construction projects. Prior to joining BOE Kyle was a Senior Project Manager at Atlas-Pellizzari. Kyle holds a BS in Industrial Administration from Iowa State University.

Joel Schafer, PE
Structural & Civil Project Manager
Joel joined BOE in 2015 and has worked on a variety of challenging projects. These range from custom racking for unique roof structures to pile foundation design for large-scale solar farms. Joel has developed new methodologies for internal design work as well as provided consulting to all the major racking vendors in the market. Joel holds a BS in Civil Engineering from California State University, Sacramento.

Jered Sneesby, PE
Civil Project Engineer
Jered originally joined BOE in 2014, went to another firm for a couple years then rejoined us in 2017. Jered specializes in civil grading, road design, and hydrology. He holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Emphasis from the University of California, Davis.

Rod DeArmas
Project Designer
Rod originally joined BOE in 2010 to help build our CAD practices over the course of five years. He joined another firm in 2015 but rejoined us in 2020 with a wealth of new experiences. He continues to be one of fastest, most productive designers we have. Rod holds an A.A. in Computer Aided Drafting from Mount San Antonio College and completed coursework in Construction Management from ITT Technical Institute in West Covina, CA.

Paul Ramstad
Project Engineer
Paul joined BOE in 2020 as Project Engineer at the onset of the pandemic lock-down and the team was forced to work remotely. Paul was able to learn and become a solid contributor in one trying year. Beyond electrical design on PV systems, Paul has developed skills in photometric lighting design, ETAP, and other modelling tools. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Greg Loomis, PE
Senior Project Engineer
Greg originally joined BOE in 2008 and stayed with us until 2017. We are excited to have him back in 2021. Greg has always been a solid contributor, working on our more unique projects either because of complex instrumentation or energy storage. He has honed his expertise in utility scale PV projects both in desktop engineering as well as in-the-field troubleshooting. Greg holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
